Jack Douglas — Last Monday 18:16

I’ve switched it back as the current behavious isn’t very helpful either

Jack Douglas — Last Monday 16:11

I agree the current behavious is also odd though

Jack Douglas — Last Monday 16:11

I could reverse this - but I wonder how many people found it hard to insert a tab char

When I say “advances the line by a tab” - it does this even when the cursor is at the end of the line - it’s weird!

Hi - there appears to be a change in the behaviour of the tab key - now it doesn’t bring you to the next snippet, but rather it advances the line by a tab. Not sure about anyone else, but I really like keyboard navigation and it’s handy to tab through snippets! This happens at least with PostgreSQL and also with MySQL - haven’t tested other servers, but it looks like a page/site issue rather than anything to do with any particular RDBMS.

Tried to reproduce - but can’t. Will keep an eye on it - sorry to have bothered you!

There appears to be a problem with (at least) the PostgreSQL fiddles - I make changes but they appear to keep reverting back to previous versions - https://dbfiddle.uk/UkakOPQr - I tried labelling one of the snippets (Snippet 8) to demonstrate, but even that won’t stay in the fiddle - try changing LIKE to = in the first SQL query - or try changing the LIMIT from 10 to 5 - doesn’t persist either - my SQL has become all messed up with some changes apparently persisting and others not!

Good morning, have you guys ever been so sure that there is a bug but then you try to create an scccccccce (can never remember the number of c’s in there) and you cannot reproduce the bug that you were so sure of 😄

yes, I wasn’t sure anyone used that so I got rid of it — the idea was to add some documentation posts here with examples of how best to show stats for the different engines. I haven’t got round to that though. It’s on my list now!

Jack Douglas replying to PeterVandivier — Tuesday, 12th Jul 2022 17:30

I can’t remember about spatial results tbh, Paul might know

been trying to find a fiddle example on and off for a few weeks when i think about it but figured i’d be better off just asking

PeterVandivier replying to Jack Douglas — Tuesday, 12th Jul 2022 02:31

@Jack am i misremembering or did there used to be a little “gear” icon for fiddle batches that would set stats io, time for sql server and enable explain for postgres or something along those lines?

am i misremembering or did db<>fiddle used to render spatial results for SQL server? https://dbfiddle.uk/?rdbms=sqlserver_2019&fiddle=89fbead71bffc811affd33786ae76084

yes, and I don’t think there is any need to exclude them anywhere any more, it was just when we were getting a lot on meta - I’ve tweaked so they are now showing, thanks!

I remembered they were excluded for the meta channel. I figured the db<>fiddle channel was mainly for feature-requests though

If you wat to see them on dba.ta etc you can use cross-community feeds

Jack Douglas replying to PeterVandivier — Tuesday, 21st Jun 2022 20:18

I can see them both logged in and anonymously. Do you mean the main feed on this page?

PeterVandivier — Monday, 20th Jun 2022 16:46

looks like feature-request tagged posts here are excluded from the main feed, possibly an oversight?
