Thanks for your responses to you both. Yes me too I don't really want to ask questions on several sites. My position would be to ask my questions in priority on TopAnswer. But suppose I don't get an answer fast enough, it is possible that I have to ask on SE and I wanted to have a kind of "general behaviour advices" in this case (for the sake of giving visibility to TopAnswer). @samcarter, I think you answer my concern. Thanks!

Form the technical perspective: If the question already exists on SE, it can be imported to TopAnswers (including one, some or all answers). Answers can also be retroactively imported if the question was already imported.  (I did not use this mechanism in some time, so assuming this still works...).

Personally I'm not a big fan of asking the same question on several sites. I would pick one site and ask there.   
  
If you do want to make a manual cross-post, I suggest to   
- mention all other versions of the question in all versions of the question  
- if you get an answer on one site, you could ask the author of the answer if they would also like to answer on the other sites as well or you could write your own answer, including a link to were you got the solution from.

you could just flag the question here so it isn't visible. If you want it here too there is an 'import' feature but it may be broken at the moment - not sure if SE have actively blocked it

Hi everyone, I'm completely new here (Thanks to @samcarter ;) and I have a question: Suppose I asked the same question on TopAnswer and TeX.SE (maybe not a good idea…) and only got an answer on TeX .SE. What is advised? Should I post an answer to my question on TA, paste the SE answer and quote the SE author (if the SE author doesn't want to answer in TA)? (I can ask this on the meta but I'm not sure it's relevant enough…)

I think the answer there is correct - it only matters if we are bulk importing a large amount of content, which we have never done here

Curious question from me, who has no idea about web development: https://proposals.codidact.com/posts/288373 mentions a `noindex` thingy. Would this be a good idea for questions which were imported to TopAnswers from SE? (maybe topanswers already has this, in this case, excuse the noise)

In a side thread, it turns out that SO Inc quietly disabled the data dumps a couple months ago.  This became public when the June dump didn't appear on schedule and one of the employees who was recently laid off told the community that it wasn't just a delay or bug.
