I am trying to draw the following heart icon that is provided by the Hinge app.

I used [this](https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/139735) answer for reference and wrote the following:
```
\documentclass[border=0.2cm,varwidth]{standalone}
\usepackage{tikz}
\usetikzlibrary{calc}
\begin{document}
\begin{tikzpicture}
\draw[line width={0.4cm}]
(0,0) .. controls (-1.5,1.7) .. (-1.5,2) arc (180:30:0.8);
\draw[,line width={0.4cm}]
(0,0.4) .. controls ( 1.5,1.7) .. ( 1.5,2) arc (0:150:0.8);
\end{tikzpicture}
\end{document}
```
It produces an image that is somewhat close:

but still not the exact one I am trying.
Its right-end is horizontally straight, but the with the above Ti*k*Z code, it is slanted. How to make it straight? Also, how to join the two arcs in the same way as in the image? Which Ti*k*Z commands would be helpful for this?

- I'd suggest to draw a full half circle. This way you automatically get a smooth transition to the straight part
- if you draw both arcs in a single path, tikz will connect the lines neatly.
- in the next step, you could clip away all parts of the line you don't want:
```
\documentclass[border=0.2cm]{standalone}
\usepackage{tikz}
\begin{document}
\begin{tikzpicture}[line width=0.6cm]
\newlength{\myrad}
\setlength{\myrad}{1cm}
\draw (0,{-\myrad*sqrt(2)}) -- ({-\myrad*sqrt(2)},0);
\clip (-2.1,2.1) rectangle (2.1,-0.5);
\draw ({-\myrad*sqrt(2)},0) arc (225:45:\myrad) arc (135:-45:\myrad) -- ++({-\myrad*sqrt(2)},{-\myrad*sqrt(2)});
\end{tikzpicture}
\end{document}
```
