Few days back I wanted to create a duck with horns. And that duck says “Happy Toast Day”. But horns are missing. The duck file is here:

I’m getting error. Here is log file:

About os and version

The log file does not contain the version number of the tikzducks package - this was a bug in the package prior to version 0.6, but the devil horns were only added in version 1.1.

This means you need to update to a newer version by either:

  • upgrading your complete tex distribution from texlive 2017 to the current texlive 2020 (this would be my recommended solution)

Without the ## copying your code to test was much easier 😃

Thanks for editing Q @samcarter. Actually I wrote a .Rmd file for Q. That was sole reason for ‘##’ in the beginning of lines.

As a starting point I drew a duck in inkscape and exported it to tikz using https://github. com/kjellmf/svg2tikz This duck looked like this:

From there I tweaked the coordinates until they looked like they do now

@samcarter How do you get the coordinates of the tikzducks package? Can you tell a little about it?

Copy the two files I linked above in the same folder as you .tex file and then try to compile again.

No. I don’t know how to use it. Could you please elaborate how to use it?

samcarter — Monday, 1st Mar 2021 16:51

(I suspect that you are maybe using an old version of the tikzducks - the devil was added in version v1.1 from April 2019 while you seem to be using texlive 2017)
