I'm delighted to report that the problem has been solved.  My scrollbar is back!  I shut everything down last night, and when I booted up again this morning, all was returned to its earlier state.  Many thanks for the help!

I'm using Chrome on a Macbook Pro under Snow Leopard.  No scrollbar, and after this comment is posted, there won't be space to read any answer.

Here you can see the scrollbars working as usual.

For some reasons I can't replicate your problems. The scrollbar does appear, although I don't use them. [The transcript of this very question](transcript?room=1051) or [the transcript of the main meta](transcript?room=1&year=2020&month=5) are both up-to-date. I am using Brave in a recently-updated Windows 10.
