Each community on TopAnswers can customize a 'theme', which for now includes question 'types' and the colour scheme. We usually pick something roughly similar to the SE theme colours to begin with but you are free to change to anything else at all.

Please post suggested colour combinations as answers here and we'll implement the one with the highest votes.

What colour scheme should we have for Code Golf?
This is nice. Now it is easier to see the difference between chat input and chat preview too.

and now the toned-down version is live…

(I've switched it on so you can assess it)
Jack Douglas replying to xnor
I think perhaps the yellow needs toning down and the maybe the mid green too — it's a bit psychedelic on some pages isn't it?
Jack Douglas replying to xnor
my bad, thanks
xnor
It looks like the table of colors is that same on your two new answers, unless I'm losing at spot-the-difference.
xnor
@Jack I like the yellow here. The "Questions" header is much more readable as yellow on green rather than light green on green.
Jack Douglas replying to xnor
we've temporarily applied a theme with green shades to gauge support — feel free to tell us to switch back immediately if it is offensive!
xnor
@JackDouglas Do you have any ideas for how one might take the current color scheme and make it a little bit green? I think the contrasts work well, but a connection to the site's SE theme colors would be good.
Jack Douglas replying to Mathgeek
yes, the theming is limited to those three shades and doesn't allow black and white to be changed
Mathgeek
I'm having difficulty getting a dark theme working since the six given "theme" shades don't modify font colour nor the bright white textbox background. I'm gonna dig around the in CSS later for that tonight
xnor
I agree that the lime green is a bit much. The light green text on the dark green background (like "2 Answers") is hard on the eyes.
looking forward
I quite like the dark green too, but are you sure about the lime green shade @Mathgeek? I wonder if yellow (sand?) might work better — but I think @Adám said once you don't want to overtly link the site to the game of golf too much so maybe that wouldn't be good?
I am working on making an actual "dark theme" with a similar scheme.
I didn't say it was a dark scheme - "dark" is modifying the "green", not the "theme". The background is a dark green, hence the name.
@Mathgeek That's not a dark scheme, only a dark background, which, when the site is active enough, will mostly be covered, most of the time. I don't mind the dark green background, though.
Got it!
@Mathgeek Could you add a screenshot of this?
