`bundle exec jekyll build` exports all the files into the `_site` directory. How to avoid that?

It has three files in the main directory. `index.html`, `LICENSE` (simple text file with license conditions), `क्षितिजांतर.tex` (a LaTeX source file). When I run `bundle exec jekyll build` as per the instructions given on [this](https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/user/project/pages/getting_started/pages_from_scratch.html) page; it creates a directory named `_site` in which it automatically adds `LICENSE` and `क्षितिजांतर.tex` too which aren't necessary for building the site. How to exclude them?
