Meta
add tag
Solomon Rutzky
So I recently posted a question and I tried adding tags for MySQL and Meta. I can click on the "add tag" tag and type in "meta", but it won't save.

I can type in "sql-" and get a list of SQL Server entries. I can select "sql-server" and it adds that one. I can remove that and then add "sql-server-2012" and it will add both "sql-server" and "sql-server-2012".

I can type in "mysql" and it will show me a list starting with "mysql" followed by "mysql-5.0", "mysql-5.1", and so on. From that list I can select "mysql" and it will add that tag. However, I cannot select any other "mysql-" value and have it added to the question.

The bug preventing us from adding tags with dashes/dots (like `mysql-5.0`) is now fixed.

This is by design — you can't create new tags when posting a question like you can on SE, and `meta` isn't an existing tag (it's a question type though, as you must already know because you have used it for this question). We'll have a tag 'crew' at some point but for now if you'd like a new tag please just let us know and we'll create it manually.

This is also by design — `sql-server-2012` implies `sql-server`
